People with disabilities of any age have the same rights – and dreams for their future – as
anyone else. In other wealthy countries, people with disabilities have a legal right to the equipment, therapy and basic support services they need for daily living. Not in Australia.

Families continue to struggle to provide constant loving care without support or genuine opportunities because the system is built around available “services”, not what people with disabilities actually need.

The next federal government must have a cost-effective, efficient plan to meet future disability support needs. The introduction of a National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) would be one of a suite of measures our Elected Representatives need to consider and then take action on to implement.

Parents are mad as hell; People with disabilities are mad as hell; Families, friends and support workers are mad as hell; Family carers are mad as hell.
